About JobsYour JobJob placement is included in the programme and there is a wide variety of work environments to choose from. All the jobs we offer are entry level seasonal jobs in the service industry with wages ranging from USD 7 – USD 9 an hour, usually above state minimum wage Wages earned should cover daily expenses such as food, lodging and transportation. Participants work for 5 – 6 days a week averaging 30 – 40 hours a week, earning between USD 200 to USD 350 a week. There is no restriction on number of hours students are allowed to work. While we do our best to provide as much information as we can on individual employers to enable you to make an informed choice, previous students who worked in different jobs and areas often mention that all the jobs are more or less the same in nature and the job in itself is not an important aspect of the programme. What is more important is the opportunity to work alongside fellow international students as well as Americans, and gain an insight into the everyday life of Americans. Second JobsSome employers allow you to find a second job, to earn more money, but this should not interfere with your primary job. Talk to your employer first before looking around. |
